How to cancel a Superwhisper subscription, and what you keep
The short answer
To cancel Superwhisper Pro, open superwhisper.com/billing, sign in with the email on your account, and choose Cancel subscription. If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app, cancel through the App Store or Google Play instead, because Superwhisper cannot see those subscriptions. Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then the account moves to the free plan, and your modes, vocabulary and history stay on your device. Flit, a local dictation app for Mac, has no subscription to cancel: it is one payment.
How to cancel Superwhisper
- Work out who bills you. If you bought on superwhisper.com, it is Superwhisper. If you bought inside the iPhone or Android app, it is Apple or Google.
- If you bought on the website: open superwhisper.com/billing, sign in with the email on your account, and choose Cancel subscription.
- If you bought on an iPhone: open the App Store, tap your profile picture, tap Subscriptions, select Superwhisper, and cancel there.
- If you bought on Android: open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, select Superwhisper, and cancel there.
- Check the date your paid period ends. Pro keeps working until then.
- If you are inside the first 30 days and want your money back, request a refund as well. Cancelling alone does not refund anything.
Deleting the app from your Mac does not cancel anything. Billing is separate from the app.

What happens after you cancel
Two things happen, according to Superwhisper. Pro features stay active until the end of your current billing period, and then your account moves to Free. And your custom modes, vocabulary and history stay on your device, so if you subscribe again, everything is where you left it.
The free plan still dictates. It includes unlimited dictation with local Whisper models, up to two modes without AI processing, custom vocabulary and text replacements. Cloud models, AI modes and file transcription stop.
Getting a refund
Monthly, Annual and Lifetime all have a 30-day refund window from the date of first purchase. For purchases made on superwhisper.com it is self-serve.
- Open the refund request form at superwhisper.com/refund/request.
- Enter the email you purchased with. Giving a reason is optional.
- Confirm the refund from the link Superwhisper emails you.
- Allow 5 to 10 days for the amount to show on your statement.
What a refund does not cover
Renewal charges are not refundable by themselves, because the 30 days run from your first purchase. If you do not want to renew, cancel before the renewal date.
Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google, not by Superwhisper. Enterprise subscriptions are not eligible for the self-serve refund.
Switching plan instead of cancelling
Cancelling is not the only option. In the billing portal you can switch between Monthly and Annual at any time.
To move to Lifetime, Superwhisper says to buy Lifetime and then email its support from the same address, and it refunds the unused part of your existing subscription.
Deleting your account
Cancelling stops billing and keeps the account. To delete it, Superwhisper’s page says to email support@superwhisper.com from the address on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". It completes the deletion within 30 days.
It also says how little there is to delete: your transcripts and audio are on your device, not on its servers. Billing records are kept in anonymized form, as tax law requires. Account deletion does not touch the files on your Mac; the uninstall guide covers those.
If you are cancelling because of the subscription
Flit is sold as one payment, so there is nothing to cancel and no renewal date to watch. Superwhisper’s own Lifetime plan is the other way to stop paying monthly.

- 12 months of updates are included. Another year is $19 and optional, and nothing renews by itself.
- No account. The license is a key, and everything runs on the Mac.

Good to know
- Superwhisper’s free plan still dictates after you cancel. If local Whisper models are enough, you do not need to buy anything.
- Flit has no custom modes, no cloud models and no meeting recording, and it runs on the Mac only.
- Flit runs on a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later. There is no Windows, iPhone or Android app today; Windows is in the works.
- The voice model is a download of about 0.5 to 2.3 GB that you choose once. After that Flit needs no connection.
- Flit holds no SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA certificate. Nothing you say reaches a server, so there is no server to certify. If your organization requires a certificate, Flit does not have one.
