Flit runs entirely on your Mac, so there is no server for us to pay for and no reason to bill you every month for one. You buy it once, for up to 2 Macs, and it stays yours whether or not you ever renew.

The arithmetic
At $12 a month, a dictation subscription passes $49 in month 5 and never stops after that. Flit is bought once, so the second bar is the same height in year 3 as it was on day one.
After 1 year
you keep $95
After 2 years
you keep $239
After 3 years
you keep $383
The Flit bar is $49 because the license is permanent and renewing is optional. If you renewed every year to keep getting updates it would be $87 over 3 years, not $49. That is the honest upper bound, and it is still $345 less than the subscription.
$12 a month is representative, not a quote from any one product. Real prices, each checked against that product’s own page, are on the comparison pages.
Flit never contacts a license server, so nobody can revoke it, expire it, or move a feature you already have behind a renewal.
A subscription app stops working when the company does. Flit is a local app with local models. If we vanish, it keeps running.
Nobody here needs your audio to be worth something. There is no engagement metric, no retention team, and nothing to upsell.
No. One payment buys the app permanently, on up to 2 of your Macs. It is $49, or $29 while the launch price lasts, and you never pay again unless you choose to. A subscription takes the software away when you stop. This does not.
The first 100 licenses are $29, the next 100 are $39, and after that Flit is $49. Lifetime is $79 for the first 100, then $99. The price you pay is the price on the button when you buy, and a launch license is identical to a full-price one in every way.
Every future version of Flit, with no renewal ever. Personal includes 12 months of updates and an optional $19 renewal after that, so Lifetime is for people who already know they will still be dictating in three years. Same 2 Macs, same everything else.
You keep the app, permanently, with every feature you already have. The renewal buys another year of new work, not continued access. Flit never contacts a license server, so nothing can expire it, switch it off, or nag you. If we disappeared tomorrow your copy would keep running.
7 days free, with every feature on. No card up front and no account, so the trial costs you nothing but the download.
12 months of updates come with the purchase, delivered in the app. After that, another year is $19, optional, and you can skip it as many years as you like. Lifetime never asks. What ends is the flow of new work, never the app you already have.
Up to 2, for your own personal use. A laptop and a desktop is exactly the case this is priced for, and one payment covers both, not one payment per machine. Need more, or Macs for other people? That is a team license.
Yes, per Mac. From 5 Macs it is $39 each, $34 each from 10, and $29 each from 25, on one key with that many activations and one renewal date ($15 per Mac a year, optional). Pick the number of Macs on this page and the price follows. More than 50 Macs? Write to [email protected] and we will talk.
There is no separate student price. $49 once, with no subscription running through your degree, is already the cheapest thing on the comparison table for anyone who keeps the app more than a few months.
Because the alternative business models are worse for you. Free tools with a cloud tier are paid for by your audio. Free tools with no tier get abandoned. One payment, no server to run, means the incentives point the same way yours do.
Not out yet. $29 USD once when it is, with no account, no subscription and nothing uploaded.
No spam, no sharing. One email when Flit ships, and you can leave in one click.
