Wispr Flow pricing: the free plan’s limit, Pro, Growth, and the student offer
The short answer
Wispr Flow has a free plan capped at 2,000 words a week on desktop and 1,000 on mobile. Pro removes the cap and costs $15 per user a month, or $12 a month billed annually. Growth, with single sign-on and admin controls, is $23 a month or $18 billed annually, and Enterprise is priced on request. Students get three months free and then pay $6 a month. Flit, a local dictation app for Mac, is priced differently: one payment, no word limit, and everything runs on the Mac.
How to pay the least for Wispr Flow
- Start on the free plan. Wispr Flow says you never need a credit card to start.
- Watch the weekly word count for a week or two. If you stay under 2,000 words on desktop, the free plan is enough.
- If you are a student or educator, sign in with your education email. The student offer is three months free, then $6 a month.
- If you do upgrade, choose annual billing: Pro is $12 a month billed annually, against $15 month to month.
- Upgrade in the Flow app under Settings → Plan & Billing, or from the pricing page.
- To stop, manage the subscription in the same place. The cancellation guide covers each way of being billed.
The three free months are for new subscribers only.
Every figure here is from Wispr Flow’s own pricing page, read on 12 October 2026. Its prices have changed during 2026, so check the page before you pay. The table sets the plans side by side, with what each comes to for one person over three years.

What the free plan includes
The free plan is the full dictation product with a weekly word limit: 2,000 words a week on desktop and 1,000 a week on mobile. It runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, in more than 100 languages, with the dictionary and snippets.
It also includes Wispr Flow’s meeting Notetaker, with a weekly limit on meetings.
For scale, 2,000 words a week is about 285 words a day, or four typed pages a week. A few messages a day stays under it. Drafting documents by voice does not.
What Pro adds
Pro is described as for individuals and teams, at $15 a user a month or $12 billed annually. Its list is short, because the free plan already has the features.
- Unlimited dictation.
- Longer Notetaker history and higher meeting limits.
- A shared dictionary and snippets, and a shared team workspace.
- Centralized billing and user management, and team usage analytics.
- Priority support and early access to new features.
Growth and Enterprise
Growth is $23 a user a month, or $18 billed annually. It adds single sign-on with SAML, HIPAA enforcement across the organization with a signed business associate agreement, admin control over model training for the whole team, and tools for managing members and billing. The Growth card also shows a higher price, $33 a month or $26 billed annually, for unlimited Notetaker access.
Enterprise has no published price and is available annually. It adds user provisioning, audit logs, managed deployment, model training locked off, and custom contract terms.
Students, educators and non-profits
The student page sets out the offer: sign in with an education email and Flow Pro is free for three months, then $6 a month, which is half price. Without that kind of address, Wispr Flow accepts other proof, such as a student ID or an enrollment confirmation.
The pricing page adds that non-profit organizations get discounted Flow Pro, without giving a figure.
Per user, and in the cloud
Two things are worth knowing about how the price works. It is per user, so a team of five on annual Pro pays $720 a year. And the service runs on Wispr Flow’s servers: its own privacy page says transcription always happens in the cloud, so the plan you pay for is also what keeps dictation working.
The pricing page does not mention refunds. For cancelling, and what happens to your access afterwards, see how to cancel Wispr Flow.
How Flit is priced, for comparison
Flit is a dictation app for the Mac only, sold as one payment. Nothing is processed on a server, so there is no cost per sentence to pass on and no word limit.
- $19 once, for up to 2 of your own Macs. There is no monthly or yearly plan.
- 12 months of updates are included. Another year is $19 and optional, and the app keeps working, with everything it has, if you never renew.
- Over three years that is $19, or $19 plus two $19 renewals if you want every update.
- Every feature is included, and everything runs on the Mac with no account.
- No weekly word limit, during the trial or after.
- It works with no connection, since nothing is sent anywhere.
- Flit is free for 7 days with every feature on, then $19 once, with no account and no subscription.
Good to know
- Wispr Flow’s free plan costs nothing. If you dictate less than 2,000 words a week and are comfortable with cloud transcription, it may be all you need.
- Wispr Flow runs on Windows, iPhone and Android as well, and has a meeting Notetaker. Flit covers 2 Macs, and does not record meetings.
- Flit has no shared team workspace, single sign-on or admin console.
- Flit runs on a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later. There is no Windows, iPhone or Android app today; Windows is in the works.
- The voice model is a download of about 0.5 to 2.3 GB that you choose once. After that Flit needs no connection.
- Flit holds no SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA certificate. Nothing you say reaches a server, so there is no server to certify. If your organization requires a certificate, Flit does not have one.
