# Dictation app for founders and executives

Canonical page: https://flit.fyi/use-cases/founders

**Clear your inbox by speaking.** Your day is a queue of replies. Each one is short, each one needs the right register, and typing them is the tax you pay for being the person everyone asks. Flit turns the queue into something you can talk through, with the tone already matched to where the message is going.

## What slows founders and executives down

- Two hundred short replies a day, all typed one key at a time.
- Dictation output reads too casual for mail and too stiff for Slack.
- The tool that would fix it wants your screen in its cloud.
- A separate dictation window breaks the reply you were writing.

## What Flit does for founders and executives

### The right register, per app

Casual in Messages, professional in Mail, exact words in Terminal. Set your own rule per app and Flit matches it without being told again.

### Say it once, insert the whole thing

Snippets hold the things you retype daily: scheduling links, sign-offs, addresses, canned replies. Say the trigger and the full text lands.

### Replies that know the thread

Optionally, Flit reads the field you are replying in, so names and terminology from the conversation carry into your answer. Read locally, kept in memory for one dictation, never stored.

### Nothing to leak

No account, no telemetry, and no server ever sees a word. Board updates and hiring notes never leave your Mac, which is the only version of this that survives a security review.

## Finished text, not a transcript

Said: "um so can we uh meet at 1030 AM on, on friday"

Flit wrote, in Mail: Can we meet at 10:30 AM on Friday?

The engine hears “1030 AM”. The clean 10:30 is a fixed rule, not the model being lucky.

## Why choose Flit over Wispr Flow

Board updates, fundraising threads and hiring notes stay on your Mac. And it is one payment, not another line on the monthly software bill.

## Check it yourself

Turn the wifi off and dictate. It works exactly the same, because there was never a request to make. No certification we could buy would tell you as much as that one test does.

## Questions

**Is my dictation used to train a model?**

No. Your audio never leaves your Mac, so there is nothing to train on. No server is involved in transcribing or formatting at any point.

**How much time does this actually save?**

Speaking runs about four times faster than composing at a keyboard. At 2,000 words a day that is roughly 48 minutes back daily, or five working weeks a year.

**Can I use it in Gmail and Slack in the browser?**

Yes, including Chrome and Electron apps. Those are exactly the surfaces most dictation tools give up on.
