The short answer

You cancel Wispr Flow through whoever bills you. If you subscribed on the web or the desktop app, use the Cancel Subscription button on its billing page. If you subscribed on an iPhone, cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, in Google Play. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for, then drop to the free plan of 2,000 words a week on desktop. Refunds for unused time are not automatic. Flit, a local dictation app for Mac, is paid for once, so there is nothing to cancel.

## How to cancel Wispr Flow

1. Work out who bills you. Look at your receipt: it is from Wispr Flow (through Stripe), from Apple, or from Google.
2. Billed by Wispr Flow: open your account in the desktop app or on the web, find your plan, and click **Cancel Subscription**.
3. Billed by Apple: on your iPhone open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose Wispr Flow and cancel.
4. Billed by Google: open Google Play → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions, choose Wispr Flow and cancel.
5. Note the date your access ends. You keep the paid plan until then.

Signing out, deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel there first.

The details below are from Wispr Flow’s own cancellation and pricing pages, read on 4 October 2026. Prices and limits change, so check its pricing page before you decide.

## What happens when you cancel

| Question | Answer | Good to know |
| ---------------------- | -------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| When does access stop? | At the end of the period you already paid for | Monthly: within a month. Annual: at the end of the year |
| What do I keep? | The account drops to the free plan | 2,000 words a week on desktop, 1,000 on mobile |
| Is my data deleted? | No. Cancelling does not delete your data | Account deletion is a separate step |
| Do I get a refund? | Not automatically. You have to ask support | Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases |
| What does Pro cost? | $15 a user a month, or $12 a month billed annually | So a year is $144 to $180 |

## What the free plan still gives you

After you cancel you are on the free plan. [The pricing page](https://wisprflow.ai/pricing) sets it at 2,000 words a week on desktop and 1,000 a week on mobile. At a normal speaking pace 2,000 words is roughly fifteen minutes of dictation, so it suits occasional use and runs out quickly if you dictate every day.

## Refunds

[The cancellation page](https://docs.wisprflow.ai/articles/3307336566-canceling-your-wispr-flow-subscription) says there is no automatic refund for the unused part of a period: you write to support and ask. If you paid through the App Store, the request goes to Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.

If you are cancelling an annual plan early, ask before the cancellation, and say when you last used it.

## What a subscription costs over time

A dictation subscription is a small number each month and a larger one over the years you use it. At $12 a month billed annually, Wispr Flow Pro is $144 a year, $432 over three. That buys a service on several devices, which is worth it to some people and not to others.

The alternative is software you pay for once. [The pricing page](https://flit.fyi/pricing) shows the same arithmetic for Flit, which is $19 once.

## Flit is paid for once

Flit is $19 once for up to two Macs, and it keeps working for as long as you keep it. There is no monthly charge to cancel.

- A license that never expires, with a year of updates included. Lifetime updates are a separate, one-time option.
- No word limit, during the trial or after.
- No account. Buying gives you a key, and the key is all there is.
- A 30-day refund on a first purchase.
- Flit is free for 7 days with every feature on, then $19 once, with no account and no subscription.

Good to know

- Flit runs on a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later. There is no Windows, iPhone or Android app today; [Windows is in the works](https://flit.fyi/windows).
- The voice model is a download of about 0.5 to 2.3 GB that you choose once. After that Flit needs no connection.
- Flit holds no SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA certificate. Nothing you say reaches a server, so there is no server to certify. If your organization requires a certificate, Flit does not have one.
